Why aren't my discussion resources loading a preview image?

A brief explanation of when and why resources may not have images

Not every online resource will produce a preview image.

While many websites have images designated specifically to show up in search results and social media platforms (like news articles) this is not always the case, and when this happens a preview image is not produced because the webpage has not designated any image to be previewed in this way.

This is not a bug, just a limitation of the system due to choices made on the part of the original resource owners.
